About Monica
Hi! My name is Monica Brady and I have been teaching 11 plus to students (Y4 & Y5) since 2013. As well as being a specialist in 11 plus, I also teach Maths and English to primary students of all ages. I specialise in GL and CGP assessments but I have recently taught CEM for neighbouring schools. I am also happy to embark upon other specific regions if required within the UK.
A little bit about myself….
I consider myself to be extremely approachable around children of all ages and I possess a natural ability of being able to entrust children and build up a comfortable and calming environment for lessons to progress. My lessons are formed upon a mutual respect from both parties and for me, that secures the foundation for solid learning and progress to take place.
I am proud to say that I have had many successes from students gaining a place in the grammar schools within West Yorkshire, which is a result of sheer hard work and dedication from both myself and the student from start to finish. I have received some lovely written reviews from parents to evident these.
Within my lessons, I will tailor the work to suit the individual child’s needs and address any weaknesses that surface in due course. I will not move forward in any of the topics until the child feels that have grasped and understood each one. I aim to use the interactive whiteboard within my lessons which will allow myself to annotate and go through problems with the child.
Feedback (via email) will be given after each lesson, addressing any strengths and weaknesses and my proposals going forward for future lessons.
The online lessons can be booked for 30/45 minute sessions, where prices and times will be discussed with parents prior to the booking. All payments will be required 24 hours prior to the lessons and I allow a 12 hour cancellation policy. I will also do a free, short introduction upon request.
I hold a current, fully enhanced DBS check, which I update yearly on the system. This can be freely be accessed by parents or I can send photographic evidence myself if needed.
